OUR MISSION: Operate, maintain & improve the National Blue Alert System that enables communication between law enforcement, transportation & news/social/wireless medias. Work to bring support to the families of fallen officers. The unexpected loss of life & loss of everyday function puts a strain on these families. Work Nationally to bring Body Armor, Body Cameras, Squad Car Cameras & more to the law enforcement agencies that are not able to obtain this critical safety equipment. Since we are a All Volunteer Non-Profit, we only need 20% of Donations for Expenses like, Office Space, Phones, Web Site and Marketing Materials. The other 80% Goes to Programs such as, Direct to Family support, Building or Re-Building Memorials, K9 Bulletproof Vests, Bite Suits for Training, Honor Chairs, Memorial Bracelets to Families of the Fallen. The Blue Alert Foundation was Founded and Operated by an 100% Service-Connected Disabled Veteran that served in the United States Army, Military Police (31B) and Communications Specialist (31Z) (SDVOSB). About Us The Blue Alert Foundation, Inc., has developed the BLUE ALERT system to help Law Enforcement the means to speed the apprehension of violent criminals who kill or seriously injure local, state, or federal law enforcement officers. We are working with different organizations to get the word out Nationwide. Based upon the success of the Amber and Silver Alerts and using the same notification system,Concerns of Police Survivors is asking law enforcement officers, agencies, and survivors to help put the "Blue Alert" into effect nationwide. As you may know, the Amber Alert is in effect for missing children and the Silver Alert is for missing senior citizens. These alerts function in many states acrossthe nation. Iowa - June 2020 States Working on getting a Blue Alert Bill Passed New York is Considering a Blue Alert System - (A2278) & (S2108) (Update: NJ Assembly Bill (A2674) is moving Forward as of 5/12/16) Massachusetts is Considering a Blue Alert System Pennsylvania is Considering a Blue Alert System Arkansas - Working on getting Blue Alert in their State Nebraska - Working on getting Blue Alert in their State The Blue Alert would be a cooperative effort between State Departments of Public Safety, State Departments of Transportation, the Governors' Divisions of Emergency Management, broadcasters, law enforcement agencies, and the general public. Using media broadcasts and Department of Transportation messaging signs, each Blue Alert would cover the state with information identifying a detailed description of the offender, the offender's vehicle, and license plate information which will inevitably hinder the violators ability to flee the state and facilitate a speedy capture, helping eliminate the threat they would pose on other communities and law enforcement personnel. State  and Federal Blue Alert Criteria B LUE ALERT.—The term "Blue Alert" means information sent through the network relating to (A) the serious injury or death of a law enforcement officer in the line of duty; (B) an officer who is missing in connection with the officer's official duties; or (C) an imminent and credible threat that an individual intends to cause the serious injury or death of a law enforcement officer. The investigating law enforcement agency must determine that the offender poses a serious risk or threat to the public and other law enforcement personnel. A detailed description of the offender's vehicle, vehicle tag, or partial tag must be available for broadcast to the public. ( Only if (A) is used in the Blue Alert ) The investigating law enforcement agency of jurisdiction must recommend activation of the Blue Alert to the State Operations Center (Governors' Divisions of Emergency Management).
